At South Downs Creations, we stand behind everything we sell. Whether it's a dining table hand-built by Richard in our Sussex workshop or a piece of homeware we've carefully chosen for our collection, we want you to buy from us with complete confidence.

That's why every product we sell is backed by our Lifetime Guarantee.

What's Covered

Our guarantee protects you against faults that aren't your doing, for as long as you own the item:

  • Manufacturing and craftsmanship faults — If your furniture develops a structural issue caused by how it was built or the materials used, we'll put it right.
  • Faulty homeware — If a homeware item is defective, fails, or doesn't perform as it should under normal use, we'll repair, replace, or refund it.
  • Damage on delivery — If anything arrives damaged, we'll replace or repair it at no cost to you. (Please tell us within 48 hours of delivery so we can resolve it quickly.)

What's Not Covered

To keep our guarantee fair and sustainable, it doesn't cover:

  • Accidental or personal damage — Knocks, spills, scratches, or damage caused by accidents or misuse.
  • Improper care — Damage resulting from not following our care guidance (for example, leaving indoor furniture outdoors, or exposing items to conditions they aren't designed for).
  • Natural wear and tear — The normal ageing, patina, and character that solid wood and natural materials develop over time.
  • Consumable use — Homeware designed to be used up, such as candles, is guaranteed against faults (arriving damaged, failing to work as intended) but not against normal use, such as a candle burning down.
  • Modifications — Any changes, repairs, or alterations made to a product after delivery.

How to Make a Claim

Making a claim is simple. Just get in touch with:

  1. Your order details (order number or the email address you ordered with)
  2. Photos of the issue
  3. A short description of the fault or damage

We'll assess every claim individually and get back to you quickly with the best way to put things right — whether that's a repair, a replacement, or a refund.

The Small Print

  • The guarantee applies to the original purchaser and to normal domestic use.
  • It excludes resale and commercial use.
  • All claims are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
  • This guarantee sits alongside your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and does not affect them.
